  • Workers' Compensation Administration Changes

    The Department of Human Resources and the Payroll Department have partnered to realign functions associated with the University’s Workers’ Compensation Program.  Workers’ Compensation is a mandatory program that requires payment of medical expenses and lost wages to employees who qualify.  The goal of this functional realignment is to more efficiently and effectively provide administrative support to those employees who sustain work-related illnesses or injuries.  Effective immediately, Human Resources will provide guidance to employees and supervisors during the initial claim process, receive accident reports, coordinate required medical documentation, and communicate with the employee and supervisor regarding return to work status updates and procedures.  Payroll will continue to be responsible for supplemental payments, first checks, wage audits, and other payment-related activities, including benefits billing.   For more information, visit Human Resources’ Workers’ Compensation website at the following link: http://hr.uconn.edu/workers-comp/.
