James Macdonald and Debra Doyle will present on publishing scams in the Stern Room, Austin from 3:30-4:45 pm. Macdonald’s efforts to expose publishing scammers have been profiled in the Los Angeles Times and he is widely known as an expert on the subject. At a time when many aspiring writers are taken in by predatory fake publishers and faux literary agents, Doyle and Macdonald give an overview of many of the most notorious scammers and how they work their cons.
