As you know, Dan Weiner has done a superb job creating the Office of Global Affairs. Our success in this area is tremendous, with regard to scholarly exchange, study abroad, international programs, collaboration with top institutions around the world, programming here at home, and fundraising.
Global Affairs also contributes time, expertise, and relationships directly to the state, by supporting the Governor’s ambitious efforts in economic development and attracting new companies to Connecticut.
It is important to elevate Global Affairs – and all that it brings and signifies – to the highest level of university administration. I am pleased to announce that, effective now, Dan Weiner will be Vice President for Global Affairs, reporting to my office.
Please join me in congratulating Dan on his success on behalf of UConn faculty and students to date, as well as his new position.
