Research, Funding, and Awards

  • SBIR/STTR Workshop

The Office of the Vice President for Research would like to announce an intensive, two-day SBIR/STTR workshop focused on proposal development, organized by Connecticut Innovations and the Yale Entrepreneurship Institute.

Each year the SBIR/STTR federal program provides billions of dollars in non-dilutive grant funding to US small businesses to advance and commercialize game-changing technologies. Winning awards in this highly competitive federal program requires strategic proposals and a thorough understanding of the funding agencies’ goals. Nationally recognized SBIR/STTR expert Becky Aistrup will provide detailed instruction on developing competitive proposals for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), and Dept. of Defense (DoD) SBIR/STTR programs. NIH will be the primary focus. A representative from Connecticut Innovations will also share SBIR/STTR follow-on funding opportunities available through their organization. Substantial reference materials highlighting each day’s topics will be provided to help guide your future proposals.

The workshop is free of charge and a light lunch will be provided.

    Wed., Feb. 17, 9am-4pm
    Thurs., Feb. 18, 9am-12pm
