  • 1/21 IP Basics for Tech Entrepreneurs

    A time to learn and get answers from some of the best IP lawyers in the region!

    The Technology Incubation Program (TIP) would like to invite you to a learning and networking event for current and would-be CEOs of for-profit start-ups where we will discuss  “ Intellectual Property Basics for Tech Entrepreneurs”.  Topics of the presentation include:

    • What is patent-eligible in biotech and IT/software? 
    • What's the difference between freedom of practicing one's invention and the right to exclude others from practicing one's invention?
    • Key events over the life of a patent
    • ... with plenty of time for questions!

    TIP is a program of the Office of the Vice President for Research, Technology Commercialization Services.

    After the presentation, please join us for networking and refreshments at our just opened state-of-the art Incubator and tour the new labs and offices available to tech companies from inside and outside of the University.

    Presenters: Anthony D. Sabatelli, Ph.D. - former biotech executive and research scientist, chair of Dilworth IP's biotechnology and life sciences practice; and Fred Spaeth, MBA- more than 20 years' experience in IP law, providing counseling on patent and trademark issues
