  • HR Professional Development Programs, Spring 2016

    Human Resources is pleased to announce our Leadership professional development programs for Spring 2016.  These programs are available via open enrollment registration for all employees at www.prodev.uconn.edu   There is no cost to attend.  Each employee must have supervisory approval and attend all three sessions of each program.

    Supervisor Essentials Program (SEP):  Communications Track (for mid-level supervisors and managers)

    Develop a personal leadership style, effective communication skills, active listening capabilities and the ability to apply a coaching model to address workplace conflict.  This program will take place on February 25 (8:30am-4:00pm),  March 16 (8:30am-noon) and March 31 (8:30am-4:00pm).           

                                            

    Supervisor Essentials Program (SEP):  Performance Management Track (for mid-level supervisors and managers)

    Recommended prerequisite:  Completion of SEP Communications Track

    Effectively provide feedback to improve performance, encourage continued good performance and/or take corrective action when performance does not improve and develop the capacity to manage change.  This program will take place on May 5 (8:30am-noon), May 26 (8:30-4pm) and June 7 (8:30am-noon).

     

    Interaction and Leadership  Program (ILP) (for all employees)

    ILP focuses on improving interaction skills and building relationships with peers and customers to enable employee success at work.  It is especially valuable for employees who may be experiencing some level of interpersonal conflict.  This program will take place on March 3 (8:30am-noon), March 15 (8:30am-noon) and March 30 (8:30am-4:00pm). 

     

    Platinum Husky Service (PHS):  Customer Service (for all employees)

    The PHS program aims to help motivated employees develop a culture of service at UConn by first learning and practicing job specific customer service activities in a facilitated classroom environment and then committing to consistently applying these skills on-the-job. PHS will take place from 9:00am-Noon on January 14, 28 and February 4th.
