    In celebration of National Work and Family Month, October 2015

    UConn Police and Human Resources are pleased to offer faculty and staff the following safety sessions. Register for each session below at prodev.uconn.edu (NetID  required).  Space is limited.

    Handling Emergencies in the Workplace Thursday, October 15, 12:00pm-1:00pm, SU Rm 320                       

    The  “Handling Emergencies in the Workplace” program covers the resources available to faculty and staff through the Department of Public Safety. Topics include; police-fire-medical emergencies, the 9-1-1 system and emergency notification. The training includes emergency procedures and evacuation information.

    Recognizing & Responding to Violence in the Workplace  Thursday, October 22, 12:00pm-1:00pm, SU Rm 320                   

    The  “Recognizing and Preventing Violence in the Workplace” program covers the four different types of workplace violence and are designed to give faculty and staff a reference on how to handle them. The  training includes an instructional video which provides information how to identify and address behaviors of concern.

    Active Threat Thursday, October 29, 10:00am-12:00pm SU Rm 316/317 combined                 

    The  “Active Threat” program is designed to give faculty, staff and students a reference on how to respond to an active shooter. The two hour presentation provides an introduction to the UConn Police department, information on 911 and  the University Alert Notification System. The training includes an instructional video which provides realistic strategies on how to survive an active shooter incident.
