Additional UConn Information

  • New UConn Alert Site Launched

The University has launched a new UConn Alert site, providing the UConn community with an improved emergency communications tool, including real-time updates of emergency status as well as new “What to Do” scenarios.

University community members will still receive emergency alert text messages, emails, automated calls, blue lights, social media postings and web site banner alerts, as before. However, all alerts will now direct users to the Alert site (alert.uconn.edu) where they can view detailed information on the alert situation and precautions to be taken.

The new site will feature real-time situation updates in a blog-style chronological format, so users can view the latest updates, as well as all ongoing updates throughout an emergency incident.

A critical new feature of the site is the “What to Do Scenarios” page, which provides important information for the procedures and safety precautions community members should follow in the event of identified emergency situations.

UConn community members should take time to review the “What to Do Scenarios” and other new site content at alert.uconn.edu
