  • 8/30 Michele Norris to Speak at the Storrs Campus

We are honored to announce that Ms. Michele Norris will give the Keynote Address to our first-year students during the “Weeks of Welcome” (WOW) Opening Weekend.

All members of the campus community are invited to join our new students at this presentation on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 1:00 pm in Gampel Pavilion.

Ms. Norris is one of the most trusted voices in journalism in the United States. Her voice informs, engages and enlightens listeners with thoughtful interviews and in depth reporting.  She is one of the former hosts of, and now guest host and special correspondent for, NPR’s flagship afternoon broadcast, All Things Considered. Michele uses an approachable interviewing style that is relaxed and rigorous. She has interviewed world leaders, Nobel laureates, Oscar winners, American Presidents, military leaders, influential newsmakers and even astronauts traveling in outer space.

Ms. Norris will speak to our new students about her Peabody Award winning program “The Race Card Project,” which she started in 2010 to help foster a candid dialogue about race.
