  • CT Bioscience Innovation Fund Information

In collaboration with the Institute for Systems Genomics, Technology Commercialization Services in the Office of the Vice President for Research recently hosted an informational session regarding the Connecticut Bioscience Innovation Fund (CBIF). This $200 million, 10-year fund provides up to $500,000 to speed commercialization of bioscience breakthroughs. Funding options include grants, equity investments, and loans.

Connecticut-based nonprofit corporations, accredited colleges and universities, and for-profit start-up or early-stage businesses working in bioscience, biomedical engineering, health information management, medical care, medical devices, medical diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, personalized medicine or other related disciplines can apply for funding.

Presentation materials from Connecticut Innovations Director of Bioscience Initiatives, Margaret Cartiera, Ph.D., are now available online at the Technology Commercialization Services “start-up resources” page. Faculty interested in pursuing this funding opportunity are encouraged to review the presentation materials, and to visit the CBIF page at www.bioinnovationct.com.
