  • 4/29 Plea for Help for Nepal Earthquake Victims

    The Nepali Student Association at of the University of Connecticut and the Nepali community in Storrs are organizing a candlelight vigil in memory of the earthquake victims. The vigil will take place on Wednesday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of the Student Union and the School of Business at the UConn Storrs campus.

     The Nepali community urges all UConn students, staff and faculty to support the victims of the disaster that struck the country on April 25, which has claimed over 4,200 lives and injured many. The destruction of lives and property due to the quake is immense. Many are in desperate need of food, shelter, clothes and immediate medical attention.

     You can support by:

     1.     Participating in the vigil.

     2.     Donating cash during the vigil. The cash donations will go straight to Nepal Red Cross Society.

     3.     Making a tax-deductible contribution to organizations that have opened up direct links to Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund listed below.
