Scholarly Colloquia and Events

  • 4/29 Join the Neag School's Upcoming Twitter Chat

Join UConn’s Neag School of Education and Achieve Hartford! as we co-host a Twitter chat focused on school principal turnover and retention on Wednesday, April 29.

Principals are the backbone of strong schools. However, according to a brief recently issued by Achieve Hartford! –“Standing by Our Principals: Why Hartford Principals Leave – and What Can Be Done to Keep Our Best” – the city of Hartford, Conn., has lost roughly 16 percent of its principals each year over the past four years. How can we find better ways of recruiting, reinforcing, and retaining effective school principals?

Join us for a lively discussion on the challenges – as well as the potential solutions and strategies – related to recruiting and retaining high-performing principals.

Who: Principals, superintendents, teacher leaders, schoolteachers, education experts, and the public are invited to engage in a live question-and-answer discussion on April 29, 2015. Spread the word and invite your network to participate.

    When: Wednesday, April 29, 2015, 4-5 p.m. EST

How to Participate: Join the Twitter conversation by searching #edleaders. No registration is needed, but you must have a Twitter account.
