  • Seeking Candidates: 2016 Mitchell Scholarship

    Please alert your high-achieving students!

The 2016 Mitchell Scholarship funds one year of graduate study in Ireland or Northern Ireland starting in fall 2016 and is awarded to seniors or graduates who demonstrate evidence of significant achievement in three areas: scholarship, leadership, and commitment to community and public service. Please review all eligibility requirements and rules on the official Mitchell Scholarship website.

    “Intent” Deadline: May 1, 2015:

All applicants must be NOMINATED by their universities.  To be considered for nomination, students should learn about the process and fill out an “Intent to Apply” Form on the ONS&F website by 5/1/15.

NB: Mitchell candidates fill out the same “Intent to Apply” Form as Rhodes and Marshall candidates.  Be sure to indicate why you wish to study, specifically, in Ireland!

    Note from the Foundation:

We are trying something new in our application this year.  Applicants will find a question in the Personal Information section asking whether they are interested in having us send their resumes to our largest corporate sponsors for potential employment opportunities. Whether or not the applicant opts in or out of this question has absolutely no bearing on the success of the application for the Mitchell Scholarship.  It is completely optional.

We are offering this for all applicants who submit completed applications, not just for finalists or winners.  We understand that a corporation may be interested in a person with outstanding credentials whether or not that candidate meets all the criteria of the Mitchell Scholarship Program.  This is an effort on our part to create opportunities for both applicants and sponsors.
