Scholarly Colloquia and Events

  • 4/17 Conversations in Digital Scholarship: Mary Isbell

Join us for our last “Conversations in Digital Scholarship” event of the semester: a talk and informal workshop by Mary Isbell  (PhD ’13). Isbell will share best practices for preparing digital editions with and for students. She’ll focus on two digital tools that she uses in her English courses at University of New Haven: Annotation Studio and Oxygen. Annotation Studio is an open source suite of annotation tools currently under development at MIT. Oxygen is the preferred XML (Extensible Markup Language) editor for many digital editing projects, including Isbell’s The Digital Young Idea. Participants interested in playing around with these tools at the event are encouraged to bring a device with them, register for an account with Annotation Studio at http://app.annotationstudio.org/users/sign_up and download a free trial of Oxygen Editor athttp://www.oxygenxml.com/register.html beforehand.
