Coordinator for Graduate Writing Support (Full Assistantship, 20 hours/week): This position involves sustaining several initiatives that we have developed to enrich the experiences of graduate students as writers. Specific duties include teaching 3 five-week seminars on academic writing for graduate students, organizing monthly Saturday writing retreats, running 3 dissertation bootcamps, tutoring in the Writing Center, and serving on our administrative leadership team. The ideal candidate will bring not only a strong commitment to graduate student writers but also talents in teaching, research, organizing events, and working with diverse populations

Tutors (variable hours, $20-25/hour): We welcome applicants from all departments but have pronounced needs in the sciences and social sciences. Our tutors work with one on one with students from all disciplines at all stages of the writing process. We seek candidates who are committed to undergraduate education, interdisciplinary inquiry, and working with a diverse range of students. We provide initial training and ongoing mentoring.

The best applicants will be strong writers who are committed both to working with students individually and to contributing to the Writing Center's range of programs. Both positions require attending an August orientation and participating in ongoing professional development.

The Writing Center has a strong track record of mentoring its graduate student employees, whether they are looking toward futures in teaching and research or exploring opportunities in higher education administration.
