From data transparency to 3D printing, the information economy is increasingly a site of struggle. This talk by open access scholar David Parry explores the complex cultural transformations now underway as diverse parties vie for control, profit, power, and justice.
Focusing on the internet's relation to democracy and governance and changing relations between information and materiality, Dr. Parry insists that now, more than ever, we need to recognize that knowledge rights are human rights.
