  • Help Students Thrive in Just 50 Minutes a Week

The Office of First Year Programs and Learning Communities (FYP&LC) is seeking faculty and staff members to teach 19-student First Year Experience (FYE) courses in fall 2015. FYE Instructors teach one 50-minute class per week with the support of a trained peer educator. Common session activities include connecting students to campus resources, discussing important obstacles students face in their first semester at college, and invited expert-led in-class workshops on topics such as resume writing, study skills, time management, and stress management. It is an opportunity to directly impact and assist in the retention of primarily first-year students as well as to aid students’ transition into university life. Faculty and staff members with Master’s degrees from all areas are welcome, no experience required. All instructors will receive resources, ongoing training opportunities, and semester-long support from FYP&LC.
