Stress is part of life. We actually need a certain amount of stress to learn, grow, develop and be healthy. However, when stress becomes overwhelming it can negatively affect our health, productivity, and relationships. Understanding what stress is, how it affects us, and specific ways to manage it are the keys to being “positively” stressed. In this workshop you will identify the differences between good stress, distress and burnout. You will also learn and practice a variety of stress management skills, and create a personal action plan for being “positively” stressed.

Instructor Bio: Ken Steller is an Organizational and Staff Development Consultant and Project Manager for the UConn School of Social Work. Ken has graduate degrees in psychology and counseling. He brings over 25 years of experience and expertise in assessment, training design and delivery, project management, consultation, facilitation, mediation and counseling to his work for UConn. Prior to coming to UCONN, Ken was an independent organizational development consultant, a Program Coordinator for Health Promotion Programs at Aetna, and a counselor on the staff of the Psychology Service at the VA Medical Center in West Haven, CT.
