  • Reviewers Needed: UConn IDEA Grants

The Office of Undergraduate Research is seeking faculty to serve as ad hoc reviewers for the UConn IDEA Grant program, which awards funding to support self-designed individual and group projects proposed by undergraduates in all majors at all UConn campuses.

Ad hoc reviewers may be called upon to review a maximum of two applications per application cycle related to their areas of specialization.

Reviewers will be provided with a detailed scoring rubric with the criteria for selection and asked to provide feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of the applications. This information will then be used by a core committee of reviewers who will meet and determine which applications will be awarded IDEA Grant funding.

There are two application cycles per academic year. Review will take place shortly following the application deadlines of December 17, 2014 (summer 2015 projects) and March 16, 2015 (academic year 15-16 projects).

If you are willing to serve in this capacity for one or both of this year’s application cycles, please complete the following online form: http://ugradresearch.uconn.edu/idea-faculty-form/.

If you would like additional information on the application review process or the UConn IDEA Grant program please contact Caroline McGuire, Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research (caroline.mcguire@uconn.edu) or Melissa Berkey, UConn IDEA Grants Program Coordinator (Melissa.berkey@uconn.edu).
