  • 9/17 Fall Puppet Forum with Amy Trompetter

Amy Trompetter, “Buffa & Belly Laughs: A Return to the Roots of Rossini,” Wednesday, September 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Join us on Wednesday, September 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ballard Institute at Storrs Center for our first 2014 UConn Fall Puppet Forum event with Amy Trompetter, the creator of the current Ballard Institute exhibition "Opera & Giant Puppets." Amy will discuss the creation of her dynamic puppet production of Rossini's "Barber of Seville", and how, in her words, "the magic of puppetry unleashes humor, reveals lyricism, and illuminates the revolutionary spirit of Rossini's 19th-century opera."

Admission to this event is free (donations greatly appreciated!), and refreshments will be served. Come early, and experience our puppet exhibitions, as well as the video resources in our library nook. This forum will also be live-streamed on our UStream page.
