Employees who are currently contributing ½% toward the Retiree Health Care Trust Fund will be required to begin contributing 2% effective the first day of the pay period after July 1, 2014 in accordance with the SEBAC 2011 Agreement. The 2% contribution will begin in paychecks dated August 8, 2014.
The phased in contributions began at ½% in July 2013, are increasing to 2% in July 2014 and to 3% in July 2015. The contributions continue at 3% until the earlier of retirement or 10 years of contributions.
Employees who leave state service prior to earning a retiree health benefit are eligible for a refund of contributions
