  • New Document Management Partner

    The University of Connecticut and UConn Health recently joined forces to launch a strategic University-wide initiative consisting of a new copier contract and a Managed Print Services Program (MPS) known as UPrint.

    The University is pleased to announce Connecticut Business Systems (CBS), a Xerox company, located in Newington, CT has been identified as the University’s partner of interest.  CBS will collaborate with UConn and UCH to help with efforts to reduce overall cost and increase operational efficiencies while maintaining the continuity of our day-to-day business needs.

    Commencing this fall, CBS will be the University’s preferred MPS solution provider and equipment vendor supplying equipment such as printers and multi-function devices.  In addition, CBS will support and help manage all of your document printing needs and offer the following program benefits:

    • Vendor placed equipment which eliminates and/or minimizes upfront capital investment;
    • Maintenance and supplies included in your document output fee;
    • “FollowYou” Print  which allows printing of a document from any networked device on campus;
    • Secured printing through a controlled release function;
    • Support of the University’s green initiatives through the reduction in paper consumption through standardized duplexing;
    • Reduced energy consumption through the use of more efficient technology and equipment; and
    • Dedicated on-site technical support to promptly meet printing needs and reduce down time.

    Over the next few weeks, selected areas reporting up through the Executive Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer will be contacted to participate in an assessment as part of the UPrint pilot.  Based on the success of this initial phase, additional steps may be taken in the future as part of Phase II in an effort to achieve a more coordinated environment through the expansion of the program to the remaining areas of the University.

    Remember, success starts by streamlining the workplace through efficiency, cost savings and document output management.  By utilizing the proprietary tools, solutions and services of our partner, CBS, we hope to reduce overall expenses and benefit from their added value like never before.
