  • UConn Police Holding Training Exercises at Storrs

The UConn Police Department is conducting training exercises through Saturday (May 31) in the Old Central Warehouse on Glenbrook Road on the Storrs campus.

During this time, certain areas will be cordoned off around the building to limit access to people not involved in the training exercise, and there will be a large police presence in the area. The training is expected to start at 8 a.m. and continue through 6 p.m. each day.

The training exercise will consist of drills to help prepare UConn Police personnel and surrounding law enforcement agencies respond to a simulated “active shooter” incident. The simulated drills do not present a safety hazard to the participants or community members.

The University of Connecticut Police Department thanks you in advance for your support during this exercise. Your partnership helps to enhance the safety of our entire community.

    Sincerely,

    Barbara R. O’Connor
UConn Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police
