  • Appointment for Exec. Director of Residential Life

    I am pleased to announce that Pamela Schipani has been selected as the next Executive Director of Residential Life.  Her appointment is effective May 27, 2014.  Pamela is a results-oriented professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles in higher education/student affairs administration.

    Ms. Schipani has served as the Interim Executive Director of Residential Life at UConn since August, 2013.  In this role she has directly supervised a professional staff of 8 individuals and indirectly provided oversight of 41 professional, 11 graduate, 282 Resident Assistant, and 200 student staff.  Her prior experience has included the following roles at UConn: Associate Director of Housing Services, Interim Director of the Department of Wellness and Prevention Services, Interim Manager for Residential Life Information Technology, and Coordinator for Staff Training and Research.  Ms. Schipani has held prior positions in Residential Life at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and Alfred State Agricultural and Technical College.

     Some of Ms. Schipani’s professional affiliations include the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), Northeast Association of College and University Housing Officers (NEACUHO) and the Association of College and University Housing Officers – International (ACUHO-I).
