  • Play Intervention Study: Human Subjects Requested

    Attention Parents and Children! 

    University of Connecticut’s Child Development Lab is conducting a Play Intervention Study

    Investigators: Anjana Bhat, PT, PhD & Linda Neelly, Music Ed., PhD

    WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

    • Healthy adults with no history of neurological or cardio-respiratory disorders
    • Typically developing children between 3 and 12 years of age

    WHAT WILL BE INVOLVED?

    • You will visit our lab or we will visit your home or your school for a one-time visit.
    • During the visit you or your child will don non-invasive headgear and vest to record the focus of your/your child’s gaze during rhythmic activities such as clapping and marching.
    • We will take basic cardio-respiratory measures such as your/your child’s breathing rate, heart rate, and oxygen saturation using non-invasive, portable devices.
    • We will ask you/your child to don a wrist accelerometer for a 12-hour period to record your/your child’s physical activity levels on a weekday.
    • We will offer $10 as participation reimbursement.
