In this Year of Engagement Event, Nico Larco, Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Sustainable Cities Initiative (SCI) at the University of Oregon will address how UConn and other institutions can implement a model for engaged scholarship, service-learning and community outreach.

The SCI is a cross-disciplinary organization that seeks to promote education, service, public outreach and research on the design and development of sustainable cities. Through the Sustainable City Year Program (SCYP) universities bring cities and students together in an innovative partnership pairing the cities’ need for sustainable projects with students’ needs for professional-level training and practical work.
