This year UConn China Care has been raising funds for children in the Half the Sky foundation. Half the Sky was created in order to enrich the lives of orphaned children in China. It is their goal to ensure that every orphaned child has a caring adult in their life and a chance at a bright future. China Care works with the China Care Home in Beijing, which is a residential care facility for medically fragile orphaned children, and we sponsor children there for their special medical needs.
All the funds we raise this year will go towards the children's surgical costs, as well as pre- and post-operation care and nurture from the nannies at the Home.
