  • Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship for Fall

    The Graduate School is proud to announce that funding has been made available to support a limited number of graduate students for a highly competitive Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship for Fall.  The fellowship is awarded in the amount of $2,000 to each eligible applicant. 

    To be eligible for the fellowship, an applicant must (1) certify that his/her total personal income will not exceed $35,000 during the twelve-month period of July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015; (2) must document satisfactory completion of the General Examination prior to 4:00 pm on May 1, 2014; (3) submit his/her Dissertation Proposal (ready for full approval and include full and current IRB or IACUC approval for the use of any human and/or animal subjects involved in the research or SCRO approval for the use of any human stem cell) to The Graduate School before 4:00 pm on May 1, 2014; and (4) must certify that he/she will not defend his/her dissertation prior to August 13, 2014.   

    To apply, an applicant must fill out the Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship application found on The Graduate School's website at http://grad.uconn.edu/doc/Doctoral%20Dissertation%20Fellowship%20Competition%20(Fall).pdf, and submit the fully completed application to The Graduate School Office by 4:00 PM on May 20 to be eligible for consideration. Forms may be submitted in person to The Graduate School located in the Whetten Graduate Center on the second floor, electronically by e-mail to gradschool.uconn.edu (Attention Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship Committee in the subjectline), by fax at (860) 486-6739 or by mail to The Graduate School, Unit 1152, Storrs, CT 06269-1152; Attention Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship Committee. 

    A committee will review and select the potential awardees.  Notifications will be e-mailed to each applicant who applied regardless of their acceptance or denial of the fellowship.
