TO HOST WRITERS WORKSHOP APRIL 5

The Northwest Connecticut Arts Council (NCAC) in partnership with the University of Connecticut’s Litchfield County Writers Project (LCWP) is hosting a workshop for authors titled “Establishing Credibility as a Writer Online” on Saturday, April 5th from 10-Noon at Five Points Gallery in Torrington. The workshop will be led by popular Connecticut authors Lauren Lipton and Marie Bostwick. A light lunch and reception will follow. Both novice and seasoned writers are welcome. The registration is $25 or $15 for Arts Council Members and UConn students and can be done online.  This workshop is part of a series of workshops for writers being offered by the Arts Council and UConn’s LCWP.

The workshop will focus on how authors can use the internet to establish and build credibility in the world of publishing.  “Often the biggest challenge a writer has is getting the attention of the publishers and agents,” said Kathy Knapp, Assistant Professor of English and Writing Coordinator at UConn Torrington.  “The internet offers a variety of avenues to accomplish this.  We are very grateful to have Lauren Lipton and Marie Bostwick, authors with a wealth of experience regarding this topic, lead this workshop.”
