Creative cognition: What happens before idea generation
Roni Reiter-Palmon, Ph.D.
Isaacson Professor of I/O Psychology
University of Nebraska at Omaha
Friday, February 14, 12-1
School of Business - Room 332
Abstract
Idea generation, or brainstorming, has received much attention in the creativity literature. However, cognitive models of creativity suggest that there are important cognitive processes that occur before the idea generation phase. Further, these processes have not been evaluated in a team context. In this presentation, Rone Reiter-Palmon will discuss problem identification and construction and present research findings from recent work in her lab regarding both individuals and teams.
The next creativity brown bags in the series are going to be on the following dates: 3/13; 4/25, 12-1pm, and all are welcome to attend.
