    OACE Policy of the Week

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that affords students certain rights with respect to their education records.  In addition, FERPA requires University faculty and staff to take certain steps to protect the privacy of student information contained in records maintained by the University.  The University’s FERPA policy  http://policy.uconn.edu/?p=368  ensures that University policies and procedures regarding safeguarding student information and access to student records are consistent with the FERPA Regulations.  This policy applies uniformly to the Storrs, Regional and Health Center campuses.
