In response to the positive feedback from our Empower Hour series throughout the month of May, the Women’s Affinity Group is excited to announce the continuation of this series. Building off the topic of our last Empower Hour, “Implications of COVID-19 and Social Distancing on our Work,” we would like to turn our focus to the newly released guidelines for the Fall 2020 semester (available at https://reopen.uconn.edu/).
Approaching the Fall 2020 semester given these developing guidelines will be the topic of our next Empower Hour, which will now take place at 12:00 pm on Friday, June 19.
Anyone is welcome to join and participate in the conversation, share concerns on their mind, ask for advice or input from other participants, or just listen. If anyone would like to submit a specific discussion topic ahead of time, please email womensaffinitygroup@uconn.edu, and we will pass it on to the facilitator(s).

The Women’s Affinity Group at the University of Connecticut seeks to strengthen and empower the network of all women faculty, staff, and graduate assistants in our community across various identities through professional development workshops and social networking events. We aim to highlight and provide a space to process the various ways that gender matters in the personal and professional lives of women.
