Human Resources and Benefits

  • Employee Years of Service Recognition Program

    Dear Colleagues,

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are not able to order or distribute Years of Service recognition gifts at this time to recognize employees for reaching milestones in their service to the state and the University. We do plan to distribute the certificates and gifts after all of our employees are back working in person on our campuses.

To not further delay recognizing employees, Human Resources will be sending to departments a list of their employees who reached years of service milestones.  Though we cannot all be together to celebrate at this time, we encourage departments to recognize the commitment and dedication of our employees who have served UConn over many years. We should all be proud to work with colleagues who strive on a daily basis to fulfill the University’s mission to our students, our state, and our nation.

Recognizing employees at all times is important to an employee’s engagement, motivation, commitment and overall well-being, but especially now when most of us are working remotely, and feeling disconnected and isolated from our co-workers, family and friends.  I encourage departments to stay connected and show appreciation through weekly calls or virtual meetings with colleagues, and making sure to recognize employee achievements; send a free electronic note of appreciation through Achievers or a free digital card through Evite for example.

On behalf of Human Resources, I want to take this opportunity to thank all employees for their commitment to UConn, and their resiliency during this challenging and unique time.

    Sincerely,

    Christopher Delello

    Chief Human Resources Officer
