The Writing Center will offer a W (Writing-Intensive) Teaching Orientation on Thursday, January 16, 2013, 9am-2:00pm, in PBB 129. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and all faculty, adjunct faculty, graduate instructors, and teaching assistants are welcome.
**Graduate students teaching or assisting with a W course for the first time are required to attend.**
The orientation outlines UConn’s expectations for W courses and features workshops on integrating course content with writing instruction, balancing informal and formal writing, designing effective assignments, embedding revision in the course, and handling paper grading.
