  • Connecticut Sales Tax: University Parking Permits

As a result of Connecticut law changes taking effect on January 1, 2020, sales of University parking permits to University employees in certain locations will be subject to Connecticut sales tax.  Affected parking permits include:

    • Storrs and Hartford (Downtown) campuses: garage locations
    • Hartford (Law) and Stamford campuses: all locations

No action is required by University employees.  For University employees who currently purchase parking permits through payroll deductions, payroll deductions will automatically continue and deductions will now include an assessment of sales tax.  This assessment will commence with the paycheck dated January 17, 2020 (for the pay period ending January 2, 2020).  Please review the table below for an overview of pay-period and annual increases.
