    12/19 PDF Accessibility

Learn how to create accessible PDFs

    Thursday, 12/19, 11:00-12:00

    Rowe 318

    Presenter: Kathryn Weber-Hottleman, ITS

PDFs are a useful tool and often used to share information with students and colleagues. If we’re not careful, however, we can unintentionally exclude members of our community by creating inaccessible PDFs.  For users with disabilities, elements such as images and static text can be barriers to getting the information they need.

Learn how to create accessible PDFs that meet ADA guidelines.  Using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, you can also easily correct PDFs for maximum accessibility.

After the session, you will have learned how to create PDFs that allow:

    • Students to easily highlight text
    • Users with disabilities to view your PDF
    • Screen reader compatibility to reach auditory learners
