    The Annual Gene and Georgia Mittelman Lecture in the Arts.
    Title: "Metaphor and Irony: The Krakow School of Printmaking”

    A lecture by Marta Anna Raczek-Karcz who is Assistant Professor in the faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland. She holds a Ph.D. from Jagiellonian University.

    Raczek-Karcz lectures on contemporary printmaking and graphic design, cultural anthropology, film history, history and theory of art and media studies. Since 2013, she has served as President of the Board of the International Print Triennial Society in Krakow. In 2012-14, she co-realized From Traditional Printmaking to Digital Prints, a project supported with a grant from the National Science Centre.

    She has organized more than twenty exhibitions internationally in the National Museum, Krakow; BWA Municipal Gallery, Katowice, Poland; Litografiska Museum, Tidaholm, Sweden; Kloster Bentlage, Rheine, Germany; Gallery Container, Rome, Italy; Anaid Art Gallery, Bucharest, Romania; and MODEM Museum, Debrecen, Hungary. Raczek-Karcz is a member of the International Association of Art Critics. Her writings on contemporary art, film, and new media have appeared in exhibition catalogues as well as art journals.
