  • 11/5 MCB Seminar Series: Dr. Rebecca Dutch

MCB Seminar Series welcomes Rebecca Dutch, Ph.D. , Professor and Chair, University of Kentucky College of Medicine Hosted by Carol Teschke

"Replication and Spread of Human Metapneumovirus"

HMPV is a recently identified human pathogen, and many molecular details of its infection process remain unknown. Our work has identified new aspects of both replication and spread that suggest new mechanisms that may be applicable to multiple viral systems.

Dr. Dutch obtained her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, her M.Phil degree from Cambridge University, and her Ph.D. from Stanford University. Following postdoctoral training at Northwestern, she accepted a faculty appointment at the University of Kentucky in 2000. Her research, which focuses on molecular mechanisms of viral infection, has been continuously funded by NIH since 2001.
