SERVING UP SCIENCE: PLANT GENETICS AND THE FUTURE OF FOOD
Presenter: Pamela Ronald, Distinguished Professor, UC- Davis, 2019 Member of the National Academy of Sciences
Dr. Pamela Ronald will explain how biotechnology approaches are used to produce the next generation of crops. She will discuss how marker-assisted breeding approaches of today and the genome editing of tomorrow are examples of a continuum of new technologies aimed at helping farmers produce food in a productive and ecologically-based manner.
A reception with light refreshments will be served.
