UConn Worldfest is an annual event hosted by International Student & Scholar Services to celebrate the University’s international student community and inspire curiosity about the world. Through performance, food, and activities, UConn Worldfest promotes global engagement and learning across cultures to UConn and the greater community.
We need your help! There are two ways to get involved in Worldfest:
1. Participate in Worldfest - Sign up to participate in Worldfest by hosting a booth, giving a performance, or walking
in the fashion show.
a. You don’t have to be a student organization to participate! This is a special opportunity for you to share your culture and where you come from! Sign up to host a table, walk in the fashion show or grab some friends and give a performance or a demonstration! Help us to make sure as many countries as possible are represented in our decorations and booths. Sign up to host a country/ culture specific booth and ISSS will help connect with other students wishing to host a booth for that country/ culture!
AND/ OR
2. Apply to be on our Worldfest Planning Committee! Submit an application today! If selected, you will attend a planning committee once per week and help with Worldfest planning duties for one additional hour per week (2 hours total)
What’s in this for you?
Food at each weekly meeting
Gain leadership, event planning and multicultural experience
Receive a certificate of completion and a personal letter of recommendation upon completion
More details are available on the sign up form, but you must be available for committee meetings from 12-1pm on Fridays as well as for the event on Saturday, November 2nd 8am-5pm for the event, set up, and clean up!
