Yes, your old smartphone can change lives!
Manos Unidas, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by UConn faculty Dr. Marie Coppola (www.manos-unidas.org) has developed a smartphone app to help families in Nicaragua who have deaf children learn basic Nicaraguan Sign Language.
• iPhone or Android
• Disconnected from an AppleID or other ID (email for instructions if needed)
• Cracked screens are OK!
Bring your smartphone to the Psychological Sciences, Bousfield (front office) or request a mailer from kyle@manos-unidas.org
We launch the new app, called Señas y Sonrisas (Signs & Smiles) later this month, so please make sure your phones arrive by September 15.
