  • Seeking Physically Active Males for Shoe Study

    Are you interested in participating in a fitness study?  

    We are recruiting males (age 18-40) who exercise at moderate to intense levels 3-5 times per week and do not have a history of a lower extremity injury within the past 6 months. We are looking for individuals to participate in a study related to the effects of shoe insoles on physical performance, fatigue and movement

    ImprovingNatural Sport Outcomes and Landing Efficiency (INSOLE) Study

    Treadmill fatigue test (roughly a 10 minute running test to exhaustion which assesses cardiovascular fitness), as well as jumping and sprinting tests to assess your strength and speed. All testing and training sessions will be conducted in the Human Performance Laboratory at the University of Connecticut. 

    The study will be three 1-2 hour sessions in the Human Performance Laboratory.

    Males who are cleared to participate in regular activity between the ages of 18-40 are eligible.

    Participants will receive up to $250 and a free pair of shoes and VKTRY insoles for participating in this study.

     

    An informational meeting will be scheduled. Please send an email if you are interested in participating. Some procedures will be videotaped.

    This research is conducted under the direction of Dr. Douglas Casa, Dr. Robert Huggins and Dr. Lindsay DiStefano.
