  • UConn's CGS/Proquest Dissertation Award Winner

The Graduate School is delighted to announce that this year’s CGS / ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award has been awarded to Abigail Fagan for her dissertation entitled “Bloated: Power and the Body in American Temperance Literature.” According to Professor Margaret Breen, Abigail's dissertation tackles “questions of race, class, gender, and colonialism to important scholarly effect” and demonstrates how "the temperance movement facilitated the calculated maintenance of white male political domination.” Abigail’s dissertation will now represent UConn in the national competition. Congratulations Dr. Fagan!
