It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of one of our students. Thomas Leahy, an ACES/Exploratory major from Tolland, CT passed away on May 23, 2019.
For those wishing to pay their respects, calling hours will be on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road (Rt. 195), Tolland, CTt. The funeral will be on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 10:00am at St. Matthews Church, 111 Tolland Green, Tolland, CT 06084.
Counseling and Mental Health Services (CMHS) is available to provide support to the students at this time of loss. CMHS is located on the 4th floor of Arjona and their office hours are 8:30am -4:00pm Monday - Friday. Students identified as needing support should be encouraged to either walk in during office hours or call 860-486-4705 to make an appointment. In addition, information about dealing with grief is located on the CMHS website at http://counseling.uconn.edu/dealing-with-grief/.
The Dean of Students Office located on the 2nd floor of Wilbur Cross is available to assist students struggling with the loss of their classmate. You may make an appointment by calling 860-486-3426 or stop in to meet with a staff member during business hours Monday – Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm.
