  • Study to Evaluate Disability Awareness Videos

ATTENTION FACULTY: Opportunity to participate in research study to evaluate the effectiveness of informational videos on disability awareness and inclusive teaching practices. We are seeking instructors who are currently teaching a course at the time of participation. Participation will involve approximately three hours (completing 2 5-10-minute surveys, watching 5 20-28-minute videos featuring interviews with college students with disabilities and disability services providers and experts, as well as providing guidance on reasonable accommodations and inclusive teaching strategies.) over a period of 8 weeks and attending one 1-1.5 hour focus group luncheon.  The videos will be housed on huskyct and participants can watch them at their convenience. We hope participants will increase knowledge of disability awareness, the accommodation process, and inclusive teaching practices.

This project is conducted by Allison Lombardi, PhD, Associate Professor, and Emily Tarconish, PhD student in Educational Psychology. To participate, instructors must be currently teaching a course at the University of Connecticut. If you are interested in participating, please email Emily Tarconish at emily.tarconish@uconn.edu for more information.
