The Office for Diversity and Inclusion and the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) is honored and excited to welcome Professor Patricia Williams of Columbia University to UConn on March 1, 2019. Professor Williams will be giving a keynote address on campus at 10:30am in the Konover Auditorium, Thomas J. Dodd Research Center.
Professor Williams possesses a singular voice. Her scholarship and public writings sit at the leading edge of a broad expanse of contemporary understanding. From Critical Race Theory and Intersectional analysis to Critical Legal Studies and narrative insight into the manifold relations between American law, politics, and society: Professor Williams’s scholarship is an essential guide to our times. Her best known work, The Alchemy of Race and Rights, is a classic in American letters and remains a touchstone for current and future generations of scholars.
