  • Workers Compensation Medical Treatment Guidelines

In emergency workplace injury situations, injured employees should seek treatment at the closest emergency facility. In the case of a non-emergency workplace injury, injured employees are required to visit a designated initial treatment provider. Failure to visit a designated initial treatment provider or seeking treatment outside the workers’ compensation provider network, the employee may risk suspension of their benefits per order of the Workers’ Compensation Commission. The injured employee may choose an attending physician after the initial visit with the State of CT Workers’ Compensation provider network.
