    Presenter: Marcus Lawson is an Associate Professor of History at Capital Community College. He holds a master’s degree in International Relations and Globalization from Central Connecticut State University. His expertise lies in the area of using synthesized concepts in history, political science/ international relations and other disciplines to bring alive historical events. Mr. Lawson also conducts research through place based teaching methods at local institutions in Hartford, as a way to bring the historical and current relevance of history to the classroom.

    He is the coordinator of the Legislative Assistant Internship Program in government at Capital Community College, and he has written thesis proposals on topics related to Social Science issues that relate to Genocide and Social Media’s challenges and obstacles in a democracy. He has an avid interest in counter-terrorism, histories of the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
