Call for Nominations
1. Call for Nominations for Head:
All faculty are invited to nominate or self-nominate candidates for Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy, Storrs Campus. Any current tenured University of Connecticut Faculty Member is eligible for nomination. Please send your nominations to m.tartsinis@uconn.edu. The source of all nominations will be kept confidential. No one will be presented to the campus as a candidate without prior consent of the nominee.
Nominations and applications should be submitted as soon as possible, but will be accepted until 5:00 pm on December 31, 2018. Applicants must submit a vision/leadership statement (maximum three pages), curriculum vita, and provide a list of three names as references.
We are seeking candidates who will exhibit the following qualities as department head:
- Vision and leadership in developing and achieving departmental goals in teaching, scholarship, and service.
- Direct success in scholarship in pharmaceutical sciences or a related discipline and as an instructor in a graduate program.
- Commitment to developing individual faculty in the areas of teaching, scholarship and service.
- Ability to direct faculty and staff with fairness, consistency and integrity.
- Ability to represent the department’s strength and interests to the school, university and community-at-large.
- Strong communication skills.
- Accessibility to the faculty and staff.
2. The Search Committee:
The Search Committee will be chaired by Kyle Hadden and consists of: Marcy Balunas, Robin Bogner, Diane Burgess, Andrea Hubbard, Gregory Sartor, and C. Michael White.
