The Pre-Medicine Office at the University of Connecticut is looking to hire two graduate students - one to lead 2 4-hour CHEM sessions and another to lead 2 4-hr Biology and Physiology session - of the non-credit fee-based Spring 2019 MCAT Test Review Course (specific dates to be determined with the chosen graduate students). The MCAT Test Review Course serves as content-based test preparation and is not intended to serve as content instruction.
Duties to be performed include the following:
- review the session-specific portion of the MCAT test;
- create question-based content for review with students during the session (previous content available for re-use)
- lead 2 4 hour (Saturday 9-1pm) sessions;
- participate in a course design meeting
We seek a current graduate student with experience in undergraduate teaching; ability to work independently and responsibly; and knowledge of successful test-taking principles.
Pay will be $100/hr for each assigned teaching session and test-review time. A Graduate student with a 100% assistantship must receive written approval from the Graduate School prior to accepting this appointment. Please note that federal regulations prohibit international students on F-1 or J-1 visas from working more than 20 hours per week during the school year when classes are in session.
